My deepest gratitude to the Filleul Surgical Center Team that quickly sorted the paperwork, anesthetised my left eye, poked a 2mm hole in it with a sharp scalpel, pulverised my cloudy eye lens with ultrasound, sucked the resulting goo out and then replaced it by inserting a rolled-up 6mm lens through the 2mm hole and slipping other rings in there to keep it in place.

The delightful characters in order of appearance included Katrina, Lyall, Chris, Cristine and Casey who was the one who poked the sharp scalpel hole into my eye while jiving to YMCA on the radio…
