When Christchurch’s covered stadium is completed, Dunedin’s situation will be even worse. There was not enough visitor accommodation for the recent Pink concert and the year-round occupancy rates makes it unviable to build more hotels etc. Dunedin has had around two decades of financially irresponsible local government.
