A Complaint at the DCC needs to be logged as such, properly investigated, and the person complained of specifically advised of the Complaint and outcome.
None of this happened with the “11 Complaints” claimed for the 2016-2019 triennium by Mayor Cull and the ODT in the run-up to the 2019 election.
I own being loud going about it, but this is what you get for whistle-blowing: DCC Company subdivision scandals, Citifleet frauds, mud-tank contractors paid for cleaning zero mudtanks, unanimous Council report buried for years, confidential motions leaked, attempted burial of evidence with false claims of confidentiality, and many other DCC issues.
Hi Lee I think you will recall who I am if I mention that you used to purchase your fruit from the store I work in,(Haven`t seen you for a while )
Anyway my problem is that in the residential neighborhood that I live in there are quite a few industries which I am pretty sure could be breaking many rules , my main beef is with the bakery culling ducks ( Shooting ) From the Kaikorai Stream , I have actually witnessed this in the past but thought they had stopped ,however it would appear not as to cover the noise they let off fireworks and by the time anyone actually thinks about it the job is done !! Apparently the ducks droppings are a health hazard , how inconvenient . Feel free to contact me I will help anyway I can.
Hi Pam,
The DCC legal folk advise that there are offences prescribed in legislation and the complaint should be referred to appropriate enforcement agency as below.
The Police
Offence at s48 of the Arms Act 1983 – discharging a firearm, airgun, pistol, restricted weapon in or near a dwelling house or a public place. ($10K fine)
“Public place” means a place that, at any material time, is open to or is being used by the public, whether free or on payment of a charge, and whether any owner or occupier of the place is lawfully entitled to exclude or eject any person from that place; and includes any aircraft, hovercraft, ship or ferry or other vessel, train, or vehicle carrying or available to carry passengers for reward
Fish and Game and DOC
Various offences under the Wildlife Act 1953 varying fines $5K +. Including duck shooting out of season (ended on 26/7 in Otago).
I hope that helps,
Lee
