I’ve been wondering while watching the multi million dollar build going on the old Warehouse site why the regional council is not in the regions. Why is it not based in Alexandra or Ranfurly?
But I’m not necessarily against its disestablishment either.
But I would also point out that transport options are not just for Queenstown & Dunedin either, and that there seems to be a lack of them in Wanaka, Cromwell, Alexandra, Ranfurly, the Roxburgh region as well as the Clutha.
Is the ORC merely an attempt to meld Queenstown & Dunedin together. Queenstown is of course closer to Invercargill than Dunedin.
